Consider

Middle school. A confusing time in life. I remember.

Challenged faith. Tested guidelines. Topsy-turvy emotions. Friends
became more important than family.

I also remember a life-changing week at camp between seventh and eighth
grade. God touched my heart. As a result, I began to follow precepts of His
Word on my own–without the need for constant supervision.

In his book, Leading Preteens, Patrick Snow encourages
teachers and parents to help preteens “own their faith.” Ask them
what a scripture means. Encourage them to serve. Let them pray their own
prayers.

Something to consider if you love a preteen.
